Welcome to Sandy Oaks Ranch! We are a private Texas style Lodge, Wingshooting, Sporting Clays and Entertainment Facility, among the large live oaks of Medina County. Our pavilion areas are available for Corporate and Family Retreats, Parties, Reunions and Weddings. We also offer overnight accommodations. Our Lodge Pavilion is available for large or small events, customized to your personal needs. Our Shooting Pavilion is available for 5-Stand, Sporting Clays, Box Bird and Columbaire, Helice and Ball Trap.
Sandy Oaks Ranch is located 35 miles south of San Antonio on Interstate 35. Named to depict its beautiful terrain, we are situated in the Sarita-Wilco sands, which have long been known to produce some of the best quail hunting in Texas.
Along with an abundance of live oak trees and picturesque scenery we offer a unique hunting experience. Wingshooters can enjoy authentic quail hunts, hunting early release bobwhite quail, native wild quail as well as white-winged and mourning doves. The land has been managed to produce excellent quail habitat. Our sandy soil naturally produces preferred feed for quail and dove. Quail hunting will be guided by owner, Foard Houston and other professional guides. All guides are very experienced upland bird hunters and dog handlers.
Fly fishing trips are available, and are also guided by Foard Houston. Enjoy fly fishing for large mouth bass in south Texas or sight casting for redfish and trout on the Gulf Coast or Fresh water conventional fishing public or private lakes.
The Texas style cabins, nestled among large live oak trees, offer relaxation for guests. There are five guest rooms, each with a private bathroom. We can accommadate thirteen to seventeen overnight guests. Enjoy socializing in the outdoor pavilion area with fireplace, bar, pool and spa or the indoor comforts of the main lodge. We offer casual dining with gourmet country style cuisine in a relaxed, hospitable atmosphere.
Sandy Oaks Ranch is approximately a 30 minute drive from "The Alamo City", where you can enjoy all that San Antonio and the famous River Walk have to offer.
